March 29th, 2016 Marks 50th Anniversary of Vietnam War

Hundreds of events to honor and thank U.S. Vietnam Veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice will be held on March 29 at VA facilities across the nation, from medical centers to regional benefits offices and national cemeteries.

Among the events scheduled is a wreath-laying ceremony at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. with VA Secretary Robert McDonald, who will be joined by Defense Secretary Ashton Carter.

The National Vietnam War Commemoration, which was launched on Memorial Day 2012 and will extend through Veterans Day 2025, recognizes every man and woman of the nine million Americans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces from November 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975.
