Amendment to Provide Increased Enforcement of Air Carrier Access Act Supported by Veterans Organization

Apirl 19th, 2016 – The Paralyzed Veterans of America strongly supports an amendment to the Senate’s version of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Reauthorization (H.R. 636) that would provide increased enforcement of the protections available to air travelers with disabilities. Amendment 3498 would require the Secretary of Transportation to refer the Air Carrier Access Act (ACAA) complaints to the U.S. Attorney General. The AG could pursue a civil action in federal court that may provide the equitable relief f its choice, from monetary damages to civil penalties.
